WWF Ranger Promotion — Healthy Coral? Help, one and all!
The World Wide Fund for Nature the Netherlands (WWF-NL) has initiated an activity for its Rangers (members age six to twelve) entitled
Healthy coral? Help, one and all!
The promotion draws attention to the coral reef in the Caribbean Sea near Bonaire. The best campaigner would get to visit the project in person and get acquainted with the WWF’s various activities on the island.
As a WWF-NL partner, KLM provided air transport for the WWF Ranger, Felipe (age 11) to Bonaire. It was a great experience. Even the flight itself was unique: KLM flew to Bonaire using sustainable biofuel. The flight was just one of a series using biofuel that KLM operated to Aruba and Bonaire in 2014.
KLM and WWF-NL have been working together since 2007 to make civil aviation more sustainable. By working together we can make a difference and, in doing so, set an example within the aviation industry. We are working together to drive down carbon dioxide emissions and to develop a market for sustainable biofuel. Furthermore, WWF the Netherlands plays an advisory role about the use of sustainable fish, responsible palm oil and soy in our catering products on board. Read more on this website under the topic biofuel or on the WWF-NL website.
